Chequered Flag International is pleased to offer this 1974 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster in White with Black leather interior. 81,129 miles. 4 speed, A/C, chrome wire wheels. Purchased at Barrett Jackson in '07 by a perfectionist who spent an additional $18,400 in 07/08 on:- cooling system, valve job, carburetor overhaul, A/C repair, new leather seats & soft top. A little later the owner died and we bought it in 2011, resold it to a collector who ugpraded the cooling system & fitted earlier V12 bumpers without the unsightly rubber bumperettes that stigmatize the '74s. Absolutely superb body with excellent paint. Excellent interior with soft leather, perfect top, dash, carpets & door panels. Superb mechanically with no smoke on start up, great oil pressure, lots of power. Great trans with good syncros, clutch, power steering all work well. Even the A/C blows cold. Has copious records, workshop manual, handbook & extra keys.
These V12 series III E-Types have been late to the party but are really starting to appreciate. The way you want them optioned is 4 speed manual, A/C & chrome wire wheels. The only reason the '74s aren't quite as strong as the earlier cars is the large bumpers which were only fitted to the US cars. The conversion to the small bumperettes gives the car the lines it was designed with. This is a great one with more money spent on it than is typical & a great solid rust & accident free car to boot which makes it one to put away. Inspections encouraged.

1974 Jaguar Series 3 V12 E-type

Engine: 5.3L V12
Odometer: 81,163 miles

Description: This is a US model Jaguar E-type Series 3 V12. It was dispatched from the factory on July 2, 1974 in white with a black interior, a 4-speed manual transmission and air-conditioning just as it appears today. The first owner, Dr. Dewi Brown, purchased this Jaguar on 3/15/75. Records of his services are documented by receipts and stamps in the original warranty book or "British Leyland Passport to Service" that is included in the exhaustive records that accompany the car. Mr. Brown's excellent care and devotion to this car is exemplified by the fact that he scored 97.08 in a JCNA concours on 9/19/82. Deductions from his score were taken for dents in his knock-off hammer, paint scratches in the jack and incorrect tires and shift knob.
Dr. Brown sold his Jaguar to Dr. Kelly on 3-14-83. Mileage at the time of sale was 42,000 original. Dr. Kelly kept the Jaguar for 24 years and was maniacal about service, repair and record keeping. We have all of the receipts which document a full restoration in the 1990s that included a bare metal repaint, engine rebuild and all new suspension. When Dr. Kelly sold the Jaguar in 2008 via auction, it had 77,540 original miles.
The third owner, Mr. Johnson, was consistent with the two previous owners and treated the car with meticulous care. Between 2008 and 2011, Mr. Johnson had the entire AC system overhauled, a complete replacement of the power steering system, installed a new clutch and did a complete valve job and upgraded the ignition.
The fourth owner, Mr. Mendiola, converted the bumpers from the unsightly US (rubber impact bumpers) to the much prettier chrome European spec models. This wasn't an inexpensive conversion.
Today, the car looks beautiful, drives fantastically and has an AC system that blows ice cold (without overheating the engine). It has a documented 81,163 original miles and a fully documentation ownership and service history. Jaguar Heritage Certificate is also included to complete the wonderful history on this car.
